At some point, while I was making tea, I realized I’d never shared much about how I serve it. I have photos with a teacup visible here and there, but teacups and teapots are an important part of the tea experience, and I’d just never really talked about it. So, after that passing thought, I figured it would be fun to share a few posts about the teacups I use. You know. Just here and there, between tea reviews and book stuff and all the other busyness of the season we’re heading into.
Also, I’m doing a half-NaNoWriMo goal, so I’m extra busy, trying to get back to writing by getting the first 25,000 words of Paragon of Fire written this month. Easy sounds nice.
I figured I’d start with my favorites. They’re thick and not fancy at all. But I love these cups so much, and after I got them last year, I find myself reaching for them almost every time I have tea, just because they make me so happy: My Luna and Artemis Sailor Moon cups.

Aren’t they great? I love Sailor Moon, even though I’ve never been able to see all of it, or even half. I’ve also never gotten to read much of the manga, but it was one of the first anime series I was exposed to and it’ll always have a special place in my heart. Someday, I’ll have a chance to watch the rest!
I first saw these when a friend shared her set on Facebook, and I knew I wanted some right away. They came from BoxLunch and I got them on sale, so the price wasn’t bad at all, and I’m glad I sprang for them when I did. They’re kinda mix-and-match, with the inside of the Luna cup blue and the Artemis cup white, so I like to put them on saucers that match the interior of the cup for contrast. They’re also really nice for portioning out the mint chocolate pre-bottled Starbucks Frappuccinos they have at this time of the year, which is good, because those are so tasty that I always end up having more than I ought. Just saying.
My front room where I have my teacups and bistro set is one of the last spaces in the house we really need to make over. I’d hoped to get it done this winter, but I can’t see it happening any time soon. When it does, I’d like to get a fresh new cabinet with a big glass front so I can have all my teacups on display, and I’ll definitely have these front and center… not because they’re the prettiest, but for easy access.
Also, I never have to worry about breaking them when I take a sip. You know what I mean, right? Or is that just me…?
