About the Doll
Rikka was a doll that grew on me slowly. I’d seen her faceplate(s) sit on the marketplace, unsold, for six years. Nobody seemed to want this doll, and she had kind of a dopey sleepy face, so I couldn’t blame them. But the longer I looked at her, the more I found her face endearing. I ultimately sent offers for both faceplates that had been sitting unsold, figuring I’d modify one to be an open-eyed plate and leave the other one dreaming or modify it to be a proper sleeping face.
Once she arrived and I modified her eyes open, I absolutely adored the sculpt and felt her potential had been wasted for many years. With her eyes open, she has an incredibly cute and sweet face, and I was incredibly glad to have her! I may be the only person out there with a modified one; the F65 Rin faceplate was so unpopular that I’ve only ever seen one other.
About the Character
Rikka is a secondary character from the Snakesblood Saga. She is a yellow-rank mageling at Kirban Temple, alongside Kytenia and Firal. She’s part of their friend group, despite being one of the odd mages out; most of the girls in the group bear a healing affinity, but Rikka is a wind mage. She’s spirited and playful, but not particularly devoted to her studies. Her family sent her for proper training, with the hopes she would eventually qualify to become a royal mage and return to the Eldani capital, Ilmenhith. Although she sees magecraft as a valid and worthy pursuit, her daydreams primarily revolve around finding a husband. This is one of the things that drew her to befriend Kytenia, as marriage and family are typically seen as being beneath a mage’s potential, and only her friends see a life spent raising a family as a worthy goal.
